- Adhesive electrodes will be put on the chest which captures ECG. The electrodes placing site
will be cleaned and shaved if necessary. Mild abrasion is also used which ensures good
quality ECG recording.
- The blood pressure, heart rate, and the ECG will be recorded in the resting phase of the
body.
- The lab technician may ask you to walk on the treadmill. The walk starts slowly and then
speeds up and incline increases at set time. The doctor may ask you to walk as long as
possible.
- If any problem occurs during the test, the technologist will stop the test right there. It is
highly important to tell the technologists if you experience chest pain, dizziness, unusual
shortness of breath, or extreme fatigue.
- Even the heart rate and ECG will be monitored for three to five minutes after the exercise.
